Dad teaching Mel the ways of fishing...

First catch - it took several minutes to convince Mel that it was OKAY to stand next to dad to take this pic - she was very concearned it was going to touch her!

One of the many peacocks on the property.

Papa and Mel at the first lake - not many bites here...

John and dad.

Our little fisher girl - don't you dare call her a fisherman!

On Saturday we finally HAD SUN!!! We have been wanting to go check out a fishing spot Mark found - out in North Plains is a big peice of property that these people have made lakes on and stocked with trout. They have peacocks and disc golf, camping, paddle boats and play structures. It was a BEAUTIFUL day so decided to pack up the kids (and Grandpa) and go check it out. It was a bit ghettofied, but still a good time. I was on John duty, so I was a bit nervous with all that water and no railings, but we had no incidents of children falling in - sooo, sigh of relief there :-) Mel was super excited until after about 5 minutes and we hadn't caught a fish and then we finally got one on the line and it got away...but, she warmed up a bit and got used to the fact that she actually had to be patient...after we moved to a new lake we caught our limit and I think she really enjoyed herself. Mark, Papa and Mel went for a paddle boat ride after that and John tried it - but that didn't work out so well, so we hung up with the dog and cats. After that we went and had lunch together - Yummo! It was a good time for sure and one for the memory books.
