The kids are doing well. Mel has been in the midst of selling cookies for her Girl Scout troop and that is starting to be more active again now that the snow and holidays are over. I am the Treasurer so was at the bank for 2 hours on Sat. with the leader to get our account opened. Mel sold over 150 boxes! I am amazed. Mark did most of the work. It will be a chore getting all that money collected though - ugg! But, she got the most out of everyone in her troop and is super excited. For getting 150 she gets a patch for her apron and a prize for that level and Mark said, No Way, she wouldn't get it, so I am excited for her.
Since the week days are just so crazy and the weekends have become even more about cleaning and running errands that we couldn't do during the week, we decided that every weekend Mel could pick something that she wants to do. Get her out of the house and make her feel like she is getting a little special treatment since John gets so much of the attention. This past weekend we went to Chuck E. Cheeses and she loved it. Love to see that kid smile. We are trying to find some new places and new things to do and I am sure once it gets nicer out, she will just be content to be outside - which will be much cheaper too! :-)
Besides John's sleepless nights, he is just a pretty calm, sweet baby. All of a sudden he is just developing so quick. He smiles big open mouth smiles and is laughing out loud. He is finding his thumb and can sit up pretty well propped up against the couch. I put him in the walker and he can just touch the ground and he can hold his whole body up. He loves for you to pull him up by his hands and "stand" too, too cute. He will be 4 months on Feb. 1st and will have his well baby appt on Tuesday. I weighed him the other night and he was 19.5 lbs!! So, anxious to see if our scale is correct and where he falls for weight and height. I keep getting told he is a chunker, but he doesn't look like it to me :-) We will also be looking to start cereal in the next few weeks, hopefully he will sleep better once he starts that, so going to break out the high chair soon as well. Our house is starting to turn into baby clutter central!
We are currently dealing with a poop issue with John, he hasn't pooped since last Thursday! Soooo, tonight we are told to give him some juice and last night we tried a warm bath and the q-tip trick...it didn't work...REALLY hoping he goes today :-)
