John and His Toys

Look at that mischievous grin!
John is getting so big and learning and exploring more and more with every day. He has become obsessed with trucks of any kind; planes, trains, you name it - and it is just adorable. Except I guess, for the fact that he has to carry as many as he can with him at all times! Now that he is 2 1/2 and becoming more interested in doing rather than just sitting back and watching, he has become quite active and just loves to go and do all kinds of stuff, which is actually quite fun.
He is starting to go on play dates - unfortunately we know mostly girls his age, but he doesn't seem to mind. They get to play and go read books, and that's all that matters to him.

I recently got John some paints and he LOVES them! The mess is a pain, but sometimes its worth it.

And of course, John loves his time with Papa and anyone who will roll around on the floor with him for awhile. John is a true boy - rough and tumble!

We went to a kid's fair recently and scored an inexpensive train set and John loves this as well, surprise, surprise...
Other than all that, John is making strides with learning all kinds of new things. He started identifying colors recently and counting. He can draw circles and loves building block towers and playing with play-do. And at bedtimes he will actually sit on my lap while we read stories. It has been quite interesting going through everything for a 2nd time and seeing how your kid learns and see things through their eyes. It is quite interesting and fun!
